Every lamp is printed to order on our own machines, one at a time. The texture you can see isn't a coating, it's the print itself, and it's what gives the shade its pattern when the light comes through.
Once it's off the printer we sand it back, wire it, fit the bulb and switch it on to check before it's packed. If it doesn't look right, it doesn't go out.
We're a small Australian setup running our own printers at home. Every order gets printed, assembled, tested and boxed by us, usually at the dining table, with a baby clinging to our side.
It means we're slower than a big brand, but it also means you can message us and get an actual person who knows exactly which lamp is yours.
